Elastomers

Various materials for every application

The FLUX range offers different variants for nearly every performance requirement.

NBR

NBR = Nitrile Butadien Rubber
Synthetic rubber
(synonyms Perbunan® or Buna-N®)

  • Used with O-rings and diaphragms
  • Good resistance against fuels and oils
  • Not resistant against solvents
EPDM

EPDM = Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer
Synthetic rubber

  • Used with O-rings and diaphragms
  • Good resistance against alkalis
  • Not resistant against fuels, oils or solvents
FKM

FKM = Fluoroelastomer (“fluorine caoutchouc” type methylene)
(Synonyms FPM, Viton® or Tecnoflon®)

  • Used with O-rings and diaphragm
  • Good resistance against alkalis
  • Widely-used seal material
FFKM

FFKM = Perflurorubber type M
(Synonyms Kalrez® or Simraz®)

  • Used with O-rings
  • Very good resistance against acids and alkalis (similar to PTFE)
  • Very expensive (factor 10-14 compared to FKM)
FEP

FEP = Fluorinated ethylene propylene
Fluorocarbon

  • Used with O-rings
  • Very good resistance against acids and alkalis (similar to PTFE)
  • Not very flexible
CR

CR = Chloroprene rubber type R
(Synonyms Neoprene® or Chloroprene®)

  • Used with diaphragms
  • Good resistance against oils
  • Very flexible
PP-EPDM

PP-EPDM = Polypropylene-EPDM-Copolymer
(Synonym Santoprene®)

  • Used with diaphragms
  • Combines the characteristics of PP and EPDM
  • Good resistance against alkalis
  • Do not use with oils
